There are many healthcare professionals available to you during your pregnancy, birth and after delivery.

Should you consider a paediatric chiropractor for your baby?

The benefits of infant chiropractic care

Paediatric chiropractic may be able to help your baby with a range of structural and musculoskeletal issues.

Chiropractic treatment for babies and children is quite different to the manual therapy you may have experienced as an adult. It’s very gentle. Kids can’t cope with the same level of treatment that adults can, and actually they don’t need it.

Once you’ve discussed your child’s symptoms or problems, and after a thorough examination, your chiropractor will go through the next steps with you. You may have heard of certain treatments through friends or forums but not everything works for every child. Each child is different. Your chiropractor should be open to you asking questions so you feel comfortable and confident about the specific treatment being recommended for your child.

Is chiropractic for babies safe?

Research shows chiropractic has an exemplary safety record with babies and children. Occasionally babies can seem a little unsettled after treatment, but more serious reactions are very rare.

Sam’s philosophy

I think it’s very important to work together with other health professionals like lactation consultants, midwives, pregnancy and parenthood educators, doctors and physiotherapists, to give you and your child the best support possible.

I’m a strong believer in evidence-based care. I’m happy to answer any questions you might have and offer my support and advice to make sure you and your baby receive the best care possible.
